Housing Heroes Awards nominations open

They’ve distributed food parcels, maintained gardens, taken neighbours to appointments and organised social get-togethers.

They’ve also advocated for their community, checked-in on their neighbours and - in some cases - they’ve helped save lives.

They’re tenants in ŌCHT communities whose contributions have been celebrated at the ŌCHT Housing Heroes Awards.

The 2024 Housing Heroes Awards will be held at a special ceremony on November 13 - and nominations are now open.

Tenants have until November 6 to nominate neighbours who are going above and beyond in their communities.

“Many people are doing many wonderful things, often without recognition,” ŌCHT community engagement lead Polly says.

“The Awards are about celebrating what they do, that their kindness and contributions are valued and appreciated.”

All tenants can nominate another tenant for a Housing Heroes Award.

How to make a nomination

Email: admin@ocht.org.nz

  • the first and last names of the person you are nominating

  • where they live (that’ll help us verify they’re a tenant)

  • and IMPORTANTLY(!) what they've done that makes them a Housing Hero
